Dr. Amit Vashishth earned his degree of Master of Science (Biotechnology) from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala and Ph.D. (Plant Biotechnology) from ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat & Barley Research, Karnal and MMDU, Mullana. After Ph.D. he has served as an assistant professor at department of Biotechnology and Agriculture, MMDU, Mullana, Ambala and department of biochemistry, International Institute of Veterinary Education & Research, Rohtak, Haryana. He has experience of teaching in biotechnology, biochemistry and agriculture at UG and PG levels of more than 4 years. During this time, he has also supervised/co-supervised five PG dissertations work. During his professional career, he has received various prestigious fellowships, including Indian council of agricultural research-Senior research fellowship (ICAR-SRF), DBT-JRF, UGC-JRF. He is also qualified NET and GATE national level examinations. He was honored SAWBAR fellow award for his best research paper in 2018 at Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Over his years of research, he has published research articles on a wide area of subjects including phytase, phytic acid and nutritional quality of cereals. He is also editorial board member and reviewer of several international repute journals. He is presently working on the exploration of enzymes especially phytases from plant & microbial origin for their potential application in improving the nutritional quality of cereal based food.
