Indian Knowledge System (IKS)

 

The Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) initiative at RNB Global University is an effort to integrate the rich and diverse intellectual heritage of India into contemporary education and research. Grounded in centuries of tradition yet forward-looking in approach, IKS provides a multidisciplinary platform to explore, revive, and reinterpret India’s ancient wisdom across domains such as science, technology, art, culture, literature, governance and philosophy.

RNB is dedicated to nurture a generation of scholars, researchers, and professionals who are rooted in the cultural and intellectual traditions of India, while being globally competent and future-ready.

RNB Global University stands committed to a balanced education that integrates the best of global knowledge with the timeless wisdom of Indian civilization. Through IKS, we aim to inspire pride, curiosity, and critical understanding among students, while building bridges between the past and the present.

Objectives:

  • To promote research, teaching, and dissemination of India’s traditional knowledge systems.
  • To connect ancient Indian wisdom with modern scientific and educational practices.
  • To foster inter-disciplinary learning and innovation grounded in Indian ethos.

Initiatives

  • Constitution of IKS Committee.
  • Establishment of dedicated IKS Cell.
  • Separate Section for Books related to IKS in the Central Library.
  • Inculcation of several Courses related to IKS into the Curricula of different programmes.
  • Certificate Courses in Yoga, Indian Culture and Civilisation, Vedic Management, Cultural Heritage Tourism, Traditional Dance and Music, Astrology etc.

Activities

  • Regular Poster Competition on various themes of IKS to encourage the creativity among the students.
  • Regular Workshops, Seminars/Webinars & Guest Lectures on IKS themes.
  • Active participation of Faculty Members in various FDPs on IKS.
