The University has created an ecosystem for innovation by integrating the Indian Knowledge System (IKS), raising IPR awareness, establishing an IPR cell in 2019 and an incubation center in 2018, achieving tangible outcomes like successful startups, patents, and industry collaborations in association with:

Indian Knowledge System (IKS)

  • RNBGU organizes workshops and seminars focusing on IKS to promote awareness and understanding.
  • Sessions from traditional artisans, craftsmen, and knowledge holders to facilitate knowledge transfer and innovation while preserving cultural heritage.
  • Introduced VAC focusing on areas like Yoga and Indian classical arts.
  • Implemented the study of national language to access and understand traditional knowledge.
  • Promotes application of IKS in sustainability initiatives like organic farming, water management, and resource conservation.
  • Encourages participation in IKS courses on SWAYAM and NPTEL portals.

University’s IPR Cell

Organizes workshops and seminars to educate and guide on intellectual property rights, including patents.

  • Business Model Innovation: Competitions for innovative ideas and projects incorporating knowledge systems.
  • Capacity Building: Training and mentorship on entrepreneurship using traditional and modern practices.
  • Incubation Support: Infrastructure and space for startups leveraging knowledge-based products/services.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Connects with mentors, investors, and industry experts.
  • Legal and Regulatory Support: IPR workshops and seminars for protecting innovations.

Outcomes

  • 11 Startups:
    • KHOYA CITY: Dairy startup in rural areas with ?1.2 Cr turnover.
    • LEGAL VIDHIYA: Online legal education portal with 12.5k users and 5468 LinkedIn followers.
    • KND Creations, MIDDHAT ART’s, SITA: Women-led rural handicrafts startups promoting heritage and income.
  • Patents & IP: 31 Patents and over 700 Research Papers.

These efforts reflect RNBGU's leadership in innovation and commitment to India's rich traditional knowledge systems.
