Objectives of Seminar:
Inaugural Session:
The event started on time that is; at 2 PM. The Guest and audience were welcomed by Ms. Neha Chaudhary, B Sc VI Sem Biotechnology. She briefed the audience about the vision of
RNB Global University and about the objective of the Webinar. Then Ms Ayushi Rajvanshi from BSc IV Sem Biotech introduced our Resource person very nicely.
Lecture by Resource Person:
Prof. MGH Zaidi delivered the lecture entitled “Green Material Science: Perspectives of Processing, Fabrication &Waste Management”.
Lecture Summary:
Materials have been the need of society since inception of civilizations. Since cave, human has availed expertise in isolation of materials from natural resources and their fabrications into articles for desired applications. Societies has been divided into a series of ages ranging from stone to metals, alloys, ceramics, plastics and advanced materials. Origin of alloys, synthetic materials, plastics has although intensified the social skill of fabrication of materials for domestic and industrial applications, has imposed the accelerated hazards over ecosystem. This has bound the scientists and technocrats to develop the greener processes that may deliver the
materials with stringent control over environmental hazards. In coherence, pollutions through disposal of waste materials by society and industries have imposed the need of their strategic waste management. The present webinar demonstrates the historical development of material science & its impact on environment. Emphasis will be made on greener methods in fabrication & characterization of materials for potential applications in structural engineering, defense, aerospace, dying, foaming, particle sizing, nanobiotechnology, antimicrobial coatings, sustained delivery, bio-sensing, energy storage, impact on agricultural crops, viral persistence, strategic waste management into value added products and their biodegradation. Collaborative approach and joint ventures among the experts of physical, biological, agricultural sciences, engineering and biotechnology will be emphasized to harness the potential of material science in development of healthy and prosperous society of nation.
Valedictory Session:
Students asked their queries to the speaker, which he answered well and satisfied the students. After the interactive session, Ms. Kanika Gupta from BSc Biotech IV Sem gave a valedictory speech, in which she expressed extreme satisfaction and joy of attending this Seminar. The ended with the vote of thanks from Dr. Dipali Gupta.
