RNB Global University organized Virtual Marketing Seminar titled “Social Media Marketing-Transforming Business” on 08 January 2021. The objective for conducting the seminar was to make students understand the underlying principles of using Social Media to engage with the clients and target audience. The speakers expressed their views on the same.
Speaker 1-Dr.Vinod Kumar- Assistant Professor-Marketing-IIIT Lucknow
spoke about Social Media Marketing Opportunities in Today's Era. He said that the Social platforms help you connect with your customers, increase awareness about your brand, and boost your leads and sales. The biggest effect of social media marketing is that you can reach to your targeted audience; stay engaged with them and responds to their queries quickly. Social media is a great way to evaluate your competition by monitoring their social media pages. Young people can maintain social connections and support networks that otherwise wouldn't be possible, and can access more information than ever before.
Speaker 2- Ms.Leena Singh- Director-Content Solutions- Burlington English India spoke about Effective Communication on Social Media. She emphasized on that Social media has become an effective and efficient way to communicate and stay connected with key stakeholders and customers. She also said that Effective communication requires the social worker to be capable and knowledgeable in a range of ways i.e. committed to key principles of communication.
Speaker 3- Dr.Saurabh Saxena- CEO-NPCL Consulting Group Pvt. Ltd.-spoke about e-Mail Marketing i.e., it is the act of sending a commercial message, typically to a group of people, using email. It involves using email to send advertisements, request business, or solicit sales or donations. He said that Email marketing is the highly effective digital marketing strategy of sending emails to prospects and customers. Effective marketing emails convert prospects into customers, and turn one-time buyers into loyal, raving fans.
Speaker 4- Mr.Dikshit Allawadhi- Financial Analyst- Blackstone Insurance Solutions -spoke about Whatsapp and Facebook marketing tools. He said that it allows businesses to easily interact with customers by using tools to automate, sort, and quickly respond to messages. For example, you can save and reuse messages you frequently send, and use these “quick replies” to answer common questions more effectively. He said that Businesses focus a lot of their marketing activities on various social media platforms. One of the reasons is that there are a huge number of active users in those platforms. It can be a great platform for businesses to communicate with their prospective customers as well as existing customers.
Speaker 5-Mr. Avinash Sadum- Manager-Customer Support-JATO India Pvt. Ltd -spoke about Development of the Social Media Marketing. He said it began with search marketing, prompting brands to create websites to establish an online presence. Eventually, businesses picked up on the positive effects of a social media site presence on e-commerce and started creating their own profiles on the popular networking sites. Businesses were sharing their content on social media to generate traffic to their websites and, hopefully, sales. A business that wants to reach a specific set of audience at scale would run highly-targeted social media advertising.
