3rd Free Legal Aid camp organized by Law Students for Pemasar Village

Legal Aid Committee, School of Law organized a 3rd Legal Aid Camp in the Village of Pemasar (Rajasthan). The main objective of the camp was to enlighten the people of Village about free legal services to the poor and needy who cannot afford the services of a lawyer for the conduct of a case or a legal proceeding in any court.
 
Mr. Arif Khan, Student of BBA-LLB-IV semester, discussed about rights of a detained person, Right to know the grounds of detention, right to be taken before a magistrate without delay; Rights of speedy trial and Right to consult a legal practitioner. Ms. Sakshi Bisnoi, Student of BBA-LLB-IV semester gave idea to them about the Dowry Prohibition Act in which she discussed that How giving and taking dowry has been made prohibited by law and what remedies are open to a person in case of getting compelled to pay dowry. Ms. Manisha, Student of LLB-IV semester gave an idea about the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 in which she discussed about what remedies are open to a person belonging to scheduled caste or scheduled tribe in case they are facing any type of atrocities, whom to approach for such remedy, and how to realise these remedies.
 
The aim of this legal Aid camp was to enlighten the people on about various Law in our System and there importance and to provide the legal assistance. It was an absolute delight to have such Legal Aid camps for increasing the law awareness among the Society.
