Lecture On Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav

RNB Global University proudly organized a lecture on "Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav." The theme of the event focused on the role of Indian languages in contributing to the idea of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat." on February 28, 2025 a dedicated initiative under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. 

"Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" and Linguistic Unity

The central theme of the lecture revolved around the national initiative "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat," which aims at fostering unity in diversity. Professor Rathore elaborated on how language plays a pivotal role in:

  • Bridging regional differences by promoting mutual respect and understanding.
  • Strengthening cultural ties by encouraging inter-state language learning programs.
  • Enhancing educational inclusivity by providing multilingual education as per NEP 2020.

Role of Indian Languages in Economic Development

An important segment of the lecture focused on how regional languages can contribute to economic growth. Professor Rathore pointed out that:

The localization of digital content in Indian languages can boost the IT and e-commerce sector.

Multilingual workforce enhances communication in the global market.

Regional language-based entrepreneurship can create more opportunities for local businesses.

He emphasized that incorporating Indian languages in governance, legal proceedings, and business transactions would empower the common citizen and create a more inclusive economic model.

New Education Policy 2020 and Linguistic Reforms

One of the most insightful discussions during the lecture revolved around the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and its emphasis on multilingualism. Professor Rathore explained that the NEP 2020 recommends:

  • Mother tongue or regional language as the medium of instruction up to at least Grade 5.
  • The promotion of Sanskrit and other classical languages.
  • Bilingual and trilingual learning approaches in higher education institutions.
  • He highlighted that these reforms would not only help in improving learning outcomes but also instill a sense of pride and cultural identity among students.

Interactive Session and Student Participation

Following the keynote address, an interactive Q&A session was held, where students and faculty members actively engaged with the speakers. Some of the key discussions included:

The impact of social media on Indian languages.

Strategies to balance the use of English and regional languages in academia.

How technology can play a role in preserving linguistic diversity.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Afroz Ahmad, who expressed gratitude towards Professor Dr. Bajrang Singh Rathore for his insightful discourse. He also thanked the University Grants Commission (UGC) for its support in promoting linguistic diversity under the Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav initiative. The attendees acknowledged the necessity of preserving and promoting Indian languages and committed to fostering linguistic inclusivity in their academic and professional lives.

By celebrating Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav, RNB Global University reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat", ensuring that India's linguistic heritage continues to thrive in the modern era.
