Guest lecture on “Financial Modelling” by Mr. Manoj Agarwal, Advisor to MD of Nissan Motors India

Mr. Manoj Agarwal, Advisor to the Managing Director of Nissan Motors India Pvt. Ltd. delivered a special lecture on Financial Modeling to the students of BBA-IV and MBA-II, School of Commerce and Management on 18 Feb 2017 at RNB Global University. All the students not only attended but also participated actively in the interactive session which lasted for over two hours. Mr. Manoj emphasized the need and importance of career orientation during the early years of academic learning, more so at the University. He delved deep into the qualities and characteristics of a successful finance professional and guided the students on how to become a financial analyst. Citing many examples from his personal life that includes versatile experience of various successful business ventures, he advised the students to chase their passion during the college/ University days. He further remarked that initially the academic achievements of the students form the basis for judging their performance. Hence they must be able to secure good marks because it is the degrees and certificates that reflect their achievements during the college time. He said that although the service bondage with an organization is necessary but it is the personal development in terms of experience, pay package and image which is more important and should be considered while making a career choice. He explained various ways of learning as well as marketing.
 
During the session he showed number of project reports and discussed about the various financial ratios. So also by quoting live examples of the automobile industry he taught how financial modeling is used in the Industry. In the end many students raised queries after the lecture which he pacified. His style of presentation was very pleasant, interactive and enriching.
 
Dr. Nitin Pathak and Mr. Kshitij Jangir were the coordinators of this special lecture while Dr. Ajoy Mitra presided over the interactive session. Students expressed their satisfaction towards such an interactive session full of real world examples thereby understanding Financial Modeling. It was concluded with the vote thanks by the students.
