Professionalism in sports is very much in demand so as to prepare students for future and promote healthy competitive spirit in youth. Believing in this, RNB Global University hosted “The Annual Sports Fest SPREE 2016”, an inter-school tournament, organized by the RNB Sports Forum, to give students the opportunity to organize and participate in different indoor and outdoor sports thus showcasing their passion for sports. A plethora of competitions comprising of Lawn Tennis, 100 meter race, Volleyball, Snookers, Basketball, Carom, Table-Tennis etc., were conducted during two days of the tournament.
After the two days of mesmerizing athletic performances, SPREE 2016, wrapped up with the jubilant closing ceremony on Saturday, October 15, at RNB Global University, Bikaner. The zeal and verve of the opening ceremony reached its crescendo by the end of the second day. The energetic athletes of the RNB Global University won not just medals but hearts of the spectators with their brilliant display of sportsmanship and team efforts. All the students cheered for their favorite school motivating players to give their best performance.
Dr. Vishwa Nath Meghwal, Member of Legislative Assembly, Khajuwala and Parliamentary Secretary graced the ceremony as the Hon’ble Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. He was accompanied by Sarpanch, Shri. Rakesh.
He applauded RNBGU’s efforts to encourage students for their all-round development and to provide world class facilities for sports along with academics. He advised students to excel in academics at par with sports. His message to the students was “Believe in yourself; dream big and sky is the limit for you”. He congratulated all the winners and presented the Best School Trophy to the winning team of School of Commerce and Management.
The closing ceremony commenced with the exhilarating performance by the students of Sports Club which filled the atmosphere with the spirit of sportsmanship. Sonali Bhansali and Shubham Pugalia from MBA III enchanted everybody with their stage compering. The Registrar Prof. Mahendra Ghadoliya welcomed the esteemed guests. Dance performance by Mitali Bhura and Garima from BBA III was one of the highlights of the ceremony. Deputy Registrar Dr. Manjoo Saraswat presented the vote of thanks. She thanked everyone for their contribution either directly or indirectly in making SPREE 2016 a grand success. A tree plantation ceremony was also done by the dignitaries in the campus.
Whether it was the players or the spectators or the staff of RNBGU, all had a refreshing break from the academic session as SPREE 2016 had something for everybody. The evening left everybody with wonderful stories of team spirit and colorful memories to be remembered for years to come.
