Nukkad Natak on World Food Day to Stop Food Wastage
Oct 15, 2017
“Take What You Eat, Eat What You Take”
RNB Global University has embarked on an extensive drive to educate and inspire residents of Bikaner to do their bit to stop food wastage. “Manavta ki Unchi Udhaan”, a social initiative by RNB Global University, organized a series of Nukkad Natak to create social awareness in the different parts of Bikaner on 15th October 2017 on the eve of world food day.
In a bid to enhance awareness about the importance of food, on daily life among the common people, RNBian’s decided to use visual medium to draw everyone's attention. Elaborating on this, one of the organisers of this awareness endeavour, says, "We have organized many street plays today at different locations of the city of Bikaner. The idea is to strike a connect with the people through these plays and that's the reason why we have chosen some of the busiest streets in the city to stage these plays." The theatrical campaign begins at 10am and ends at 1pm. Each play highlighted different issues related to food wastage. Students communicated the message that we all should be mindful of the perishable food and plan meals to fit in with their ‘use-by’ dates. This will prevent unnecessary waste.
These apart, students are also planning to reach to people and market places to create awareness against food wastage and inculcate healthy habits.
