RNBGU’s School of Basic and Applied Science organized a one day seminar on “Green Chemistry: Emerging Technologies” to bring world-class researchers and experts in the field of green chemistry to RNBGU. The seminar discussed the recent trends in Green Chemistry and highlighted the contribution of the Indian Chemical industry in combating the menace of environmental pollution by devising eco-friendly processes. Eminent experts from prestigious scientific and academic institutions were invited to focus on new strategies in the subject and environmental impact of chemical processes and products.
Dr. R. K. Sharma, Coordinator, Green Chemistry Network Centre, Department of chemistry, University of Delhi, Dr. A. Paul, Professor Emeritus, Emeritus Scientist, CSIR, Dr.Narender Bhojak, Associate Professor, GCRC, P.G. Department of Chemistry, Government Dungar College (A-Grade), and Dr. Ram Singh, Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi were invited to share their experiences and ideas with the students in the Department of Chemistry and with the university as a whole.
The seminar was divided into two technical sessions, part one consisted of presentations to orient the overall context of implementing green chemistry and engineering, the environmental challenges. The first session successfully implemented green chemistry technologies with the objective to learn from experience shared by chief Guest R. K. Sharma. In his key note address, he spoke about the Green chemistry solutions and environmental health. He said that Earth is for everyone’s need but we human seems in no mood to revisit this thought with reckless use of chemicals, we have move far away from being sustainable planet and earth over shoot so it is a responsibility of our generation to live and leave green sustainable planet.
The second session, included Research papers on ‘Solution Providers’ like “E-waste management” by Dr. Kanika, solanki, “Search Green Solvents for the future” by Prof. A.K. Paul. The Main objective of conducting this seminar was to create change by taking small steps to promote greener ,healthier and happier environment.
