1st Trial Advocacy Competition Organised with Huge success at RNBGU

Trial advocacy is the branch of knowledge concerned with making attorneys and other advocates more effective in trial proceedings. Trial advocacy is taught in primary, secondary, and undergraduate schools (usually associated with a mock trial elective). It is taught as an essential trade skill for litigators in Law Schools and in continuing legal education programs. Trial advocacy is the art of persuasion before a court or tribunal. School of Law, RNBGU seeks to provide a platform for exchange of ideas and experience between students across all students of School of Law.
The case (Magan v/s Roop kanwar) discussed in this competition was based on a decided case of supreme court of India named Naveen Kohli vs Neelu Kohli Appeal (civil) 812 of 2004. Topic of this competition was that A petition for divorce filed by husband under section 13 of the Hindu Marriage act 1955 on the ground of cruelty, adultery, desertion and irretrievable breakdown of marriage. In this competition students of School of Law played various roles. Advocate Mr. Sunil Kumar Tanwar and Advocate Mr. Vinod Kumar Purohit were judges of this competition.
After competition of the Moot Court Competition prizes were distributed, in this series Winner as an Advocate from petitioner side was Shivani Panwar (BA-LL.B. III), Winner as an Advocate from Non-Petitioner side was Sakshi Sankhla (BA-LL.B. III), Best Witness prize was given Sakshi Sankhla (BA-LL.B. III).
All these students were accoladed by Dr. GS Karkara, Dean of SOL and judges.
