"Rise & Shine: A Tribute to Women” - Women’s Day Celebration

Mar 08, 2025

On March 8th, 2025, the university hosted a grand celebration to honor and empower women, marking the occasion of International Women’s Day. The day is celebrated globally to recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of women in various spheres of life and to raise awareness about gender equality. The event, organized by the Event Forum of the university, was aimed at both celebrating the achievements of women and fostering an environment that promotes gender parity.

International Women’s Day is a significant occasion that brings people together to reflect on the progress made in women’s rights, while also highlighting the need for continued advocacy for gender justice. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Our Right to Equality.” The university’s Event Forum worked tirelessly to ensure a program that would not only entertain but also inspire, educate, and leave a lasting impact on the attendees.

The event was planned with a balance of educational, motivational, and fun elements. The primary focus was on celebrating the achievements of women in various fields and creating a space for discussions about the continuing challenges they face. The program included speeches, video presentations, a motivational session, and a fun interactive game that allowed students and faculty members to engage meaningfully. The entire day was filled with enthusiasm, creativity, and collaboration, with every aspect of the event designed to leave a profound impact on its participants.

The event was inaugurated with a special mention to the first officer of the university registrar, Prof. Dipali Gupta. Prof. Gupta, an accomplished academician and leader in her own right, spoke at length about the progress women have made in various sectors, particularly in education and leadership. In her opening address, Prof. Gupta emphasized the importance of creating a more inclusive environment within academic and professional settings. She spoke passionately about her personal journey and how the challenges she faced as a woman in academia only strengthened her resolve to promote gender equality.

Her words were not only inspirational but also a call to action for everyone in the university community to work toward creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for women. Prof. Gupta's speech was met with a standing ovation from the audience, which included students, faculty, and staff.

As the event came to a close, a vote of thanks was extended to everyone who made the celebration a success. The Event Forum members, volunteers, and faculty were thanked for their hard work and dedication in organizing the event. Special thanks were also given to the university’s administration for their support in making the event possible.
