Educational tours offer an opportunity of a rich immersion experience and a tremendous way to facilitate learning as students have chance to experience and explore much deeper than in classroom. Therefore the students of RNB Global University went on a weeklong cultural and educational tour to Malaysia beginning on February 27, 2017 in order to gain new perspectives of the world.
On reaching, their first destination was Kuala Lumpur; Malaysia’s bustling capital where they proceeded on a half day city tour around. By coming into direct contact with a different environment, a new culture and language, the students were able to understand their place in the community and develop openness to differences in others. They also saw old and new architectural splendours such as national mosque, king’s palace, Sultan Abdul Samad building, Merdeka square, National Monuments, Railway Station, Railway Administration Building, Cocoa House, Tien Ho temple, Blue Mosque, Putrajaya temple visit (there they climbed 252 stairs) to name a few. Then they went to KL tower entrance and captured the stunning view of whole Malaysia before proceeding to Gentic Highlands via cable car at an altitude of 3000 ft and stayed at the world’s largest hotel i.e., First World Deluxe, Gentic Highlands. All the way they captured these memories as pictures!
On the second day they went for the industrial tours beginning with a visit to Batik factory in which they saw creative paintings on cloth and were fascinated by the maze of colors intricately designed on cloth. Next they visited Royal Selangor where they saw metallic objects and explored that industry for the various shapes, designs and colour of these objects. After this they visited Yakult where they understood the entire manufacturing process of Yakult products made from proactive bacteria. They also relished different kinds of Yakult drinks. This was followed by a visit to KLCC Aquaria which was home to myriad beautiful fishes before checking into the splendid Pearl International Hotel. The visit continued to the Sunway lagoon in which they visited 6 different parks like amusement, wildlife, extreme, scream parks and mainly enjoying at Water Park.
This brought them to the last day of the tour and now the excitement began for shopping and photoshoot at PETRONAS twin tower. Spending a couple of hours there seemed like a couple of minutes as they were awestruck by the grandeur of the tower. Finally it was time to reach the airport and take the flight back home.
Memories of such educational trips are among the most prominent of the formative years, largely because they are like welcome break in the routine for both students and teachers. While their purpose is essentially to educate, it was also a fun bonding experience for everyone involved.
