RNB Global University organized a four day industrial cum recreational trip to one of the happening metro cities of India - MUMBAI, the financial, commercial and entertainment capital of India, with an objective to give firsthand knowledge of the industries and their working. On 27th Feb 2017, 34 students along with 2 faculty members went to this educational trip to explore Mumbai - The City of Dreams. Reaching Mumbai on 28th Feb 2017, the students explored the celebrated landmarks like Gateway of India, Juhu Chowpaty, Phoenix City Mall to name a few. On the second day of educational tour, they began their industrial visits. The students first proceeded for to visit Adlabs Imagica, Mumbai’s famous 300-acre theme park. They interacted with official members and understood the principles of operational management and retail management. They also understood the basic concepts of engineering and technology behind the rides. Students enjoyed unique rides at the park like roller coaster and dare to drop, Mr. India, Alibaba, snow world etc.
Next day, they visited leading industry of Mumbai like Jawahar Lal Nehru Ports Ltd. At port operation center, the students observed the computerized operation of the vessels through Radar system. They understood the engineering behind the loading and unloading of containers through Cranes. Later, they visited the automated plant of Amul to understand how the country’s largest dairy optimizes operations to achieve high efficiency. This is AMUL’s only 100% automated plant in the country, manufacturing fresh milk and ice creams for the brand. There students understood the functioning and governance of a Co-operative. On day 4, before departing, students visited one of the most iconic and spiritual temples of Mumbai - The Siddhivinayak, Temple of Lord Ganesha where they took blessing’s for their future.
The ‘City of Dreams’ is an absolute shoppers delight. It is also home to a wide assortment of local markets, boutiques and shopping malls that sell almost everything that one can think of and how could one not explore this shopper’s paradise! For this the students visited Bandra’s famous local markets and shopped till they dropped for want of boarding the train on time. The tour was were enriching and refreshing for the students with the right mix of learning, experience and enjoyment for one and all.
