RNBians attend International Mentoring Summit at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Topic for the summit was - "Mentoring Grassroots Entrepreneurs in Smart Grams for Inclusive Growth".
The students of RNB Global University availed another golden opportunity of getting out from their classrooms to attend the prestigious International Mentoring Summit at Rashtrapati Bhawan organized by BYST in association with Smart Gram. Four students namely Arif Khan, Sakshi Bishnoi of BBA LLB II semester; Chanchal Bhati and Gautam Rathi of BBA II semester accompanied by Faculty member Mr. Sanjay Diddee left for Delhi on the 4th of April to attend this mega event of the country the next day.
Introduction to BYST
Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST) is an NGO, its Founding Chairman was late JRD Tata and late HP Nanda, the Vice-Chairman. Currently, their Board of Trustees includes some of the most eminent members of the Indian Business Community, like Chairman & Managing Director Mr. Rahul Bajaj, Executive Member Trusty Mr. Subodh Bhargava and Lakshmi Venktaraman Venkatesan, founding trustee and executive vice president.
Presently, BYST is operational in six regions of India - Delhi, Chennai, Rural Haryana, Pune, Hyderabad and Rural Maharashtra. Out of these six regions, four regions run the urban programme, while two regions run the rural programme.
The Summit "Mentoring Grassroots Entrepreneurs in Smart Grams for Inclusive Growth"
This important Summit was a part of BYST's year-long International Mentoring Summits coinciding with its Silver Jubilee Celebrations. The Summit, the first-of-its-kind, successfully provided a platform for stakeholders to debate on evolving and leveraging a Mentor Movement that transforms youth in India and around the world. International delegates from over 15 countries, senior diplomats, Heads of Multilateral Agencies, Union Ministers and Senior Government Officials have grace the occasion.
The first session of the Summit was addressed by Mr Subhodh Bhargava, President of CII, and Executive trusty member of BYST. In his address he talked about working of BYST & their mentoring programme with few live examples. The Chief Guest of the session Cabinet Railway Minister Shri Suresh Prabhu, also focused his talk on Entrepreneurship and encouragement of mentoring small and resilient entrepreneurs. He introduced various areas of opening in Railways for Small Entrepreneurs. He also agrees to provide an affiliation opportunity to Small and Young Entrepreneurs’ work on IRCTC portal.
Students could easily understand the Role of Government & Industry partnership in mentorship promotion of Entrepreneurial activities for our country. The students met Mr. Rahul Bajaj and Mr. Subhodh Bhargava personally and were not only awed by their charismatic personality but with their simplicity while interacting with them.
The Sessions with Ms Brahma Kumari Sister Shivani Rajyoga Meditation Teacher, helped students to get answers to questions like –
- Is Anger important in life?
- How one can one have a balance in stressful Work life and Family life?
- Taking care of your mind to have positive thoughts, How can we explain success?
- How one can control desire carefully?
She also explained why self discipline is more important than imposed discipline?
Another session was conducted by Mr Gaurav Dalmia, Chairman, Landmark Holdings. Students were really motivated by her captivating talk and tone of speech. Mesmerizing stories were shared through live presentation of Mr. Tusshar Munot, Mr. Pradeep Yadav, Mr Vishal Yadav, and Mr Arun Awatade Young Star Entrepreneurs.
Guftgu was another important session in which Icones like Mr Neelesh Mishra, Co-Founder Gaon Connection Pvt Ltd, Mr Pavan K Varma, Former Member of Parliament, Mr Rajdeep Sardesai Senior Journalist Author and TV News Presenter, Ms Ritu Beri Fashion Designer spoke about importance of Mentoring in their respective fields.
An actual fact about employment in India and Entrepreneurial promotions in India was tabled by Mr Rahul Bajaj Chairman, Bharatiya Yuva Shakti Trust (BYST), Chairman, Bajaj Auto Limited. He discussed that neither the Industry nor the Government alone can solve the problem of Unemployment in our country. We need to come forward jointly in this very important economic development of our motherland.
Students were astonished by the lively talk by Mr M Venkaiah Naidu, Minister for Urban Development, Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, and Information Broadcasting, he discussed the most important Vision of the Prime Minister of India and implementation of Government policies. Humorous comments during his speech were really liked by the students. Students were able to learn how Entrepreneurs in the country bring change in the society and how the Government is mentoring them for a successful career.
The much awaited concluding session of the Summit was really inspiring as President of India, Shri Pranav Mukharjee addressed the gathering. He spoke about the Presidents’ Secretariat involvement in developing Smart Grams and motivating Gramaprenures in small village in Haryana. Mrs Omita Paul Secretary to the Hon’ble President of India tabled all facts and figures of efforts made by President of India towards promoting Entrepreneurship and also promoting Mentoring of entrepreneurs. This was when the students were able to visualize the mammoth efforts of the Indian Government in the development of our country!
Students enjoyed the Cultural program towards end of the summit, a fabulous performance of Bharatanatyam Dance Performance by Mrs. Geeta Krishnan Padma Shri Awardee.
Altogether it was a great formal learning during this first memorable visit to Rashtrapathi Bhawan where they met seniors & mentors of the Indian Industry and listened to top Government Officials and Ministers. They returned with gained confidence in their ability, and bringing fresh ideas and lifetime learnings back!
