About the Educational visit:

The Educational visit was organized in RNB Global University for the students of Students of B. Sc. Agri. III, B. Sc. Agri. VI and B. Sc. Biotech VI Semester. It was organized for the purpose to learn new things that are done by our nearby institutes/University, which can enhance the knowledge of students.

First of all we visited the University Library and he explained us the RFID system, which is used for issuing and submission of books from the library. After that, we went to Plant Breeding and Genetics Department, where they shown us the laboratory and explained about the crossing methods and the procedure. After that we visited the horticulture lab., where they shown us some of the research samples of cauliflowers and explained that how the parameters are taken for the research purpose. Than we visited the Plant pathology lab, where they shown us some of the disease samples and posters containing causal organism, symtems, life cycles and management of some plant diseases.

Later we went to the entomology lab, where insect collections were placed i.e. Locust, water bug, mango stem borer, tiger beetles, some moths & butterflies etc. They also explained how they are conducting research to observe the damages done by insects under different insecticides, different climates and different varieties. After that we visited Soil Science Lab., where they shown the instruments and there use for particular nutrients which are taken for research purpose. Later we visited to the farm having IFS (Integrated Farming System) having different systems like farming, fishery, poultry, livestocks and organic farming at the same place; with the aim of increasing Farmer’s income. We visited the department of Agronomy, Livestock & Poultry Management and Extension.

Objectives of Educational visit:

1. To provide students an exposure about the activities, different schemes; which they are studying in their curriculum.

2. To provide students an opportunity to learn the research methodology and projects of different departments.

Significance of Educational visit:

Visit help students to interact with what they are learning. The experience goes beyond reading about a concept; students are able to see it, manipulate it or participate in it physically. Students are able to see elements with their eyes rather than reading about it and believing what they are told in books or by educators. These tours provide the students with the opportunity of learning through travel, especially to places that they may not otherwise get to visit. Educational visit provide valuable educational opportunities away from the classroom, without using textbooks and other tools which are used in a normal school setting.
