RNB Global University, Bikaner, through its Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), has proactively undertaken a series of meaningful initiatives in alignment with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 — widely known as the POSH Act. These efforts reflect the university’s unwavering commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace environment. At university, we firmly believe in upholding the principles of dignity, equality, and safety for all individuals. In this spirit, the ICC has been diligently working to create and sustain a safe, inclusive, and empowering campus environment, where every member—be it a student, faculty, or staff—feels secure and respected.
In pursuit of this vision, the ICC has taken several impactful steps aimed at raising awareness about the POSH Act and cultivating a gender-sensitive culture within the university. These initiatives include, but are not limited to:

The Two-Day National Conclave on “Women Rising: Voices of Power and Progress” proved to be a powerful initiative in the realm of gender discourse, aligning with the celebration of International Women’s Day. The event brought together scholars, professionals, and changemakers who shared rich insights on critical issues related to women’s empowerment. Discussions spanned a diverse range of themes, including leadership, entrepreneurship, education, legal rights, STEM participation, mental health, and grassroots development. The conclave offered a platform for knowledge sharing and capacity building, while also fostering networking and community engagement. Through compelling keynote addresses and impactful sessions, the conclave not only celebrated women’s achievements but also addressed ongoing challenges, inspiring collective efforts toward gender equality and social change.

Themed “Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Our Right to Equality,” the day was marked by a blend of inspiration, education, and celebration.

The celebration of International Women’s Day at RNB Global University was a heartfelt tribute to the spirit and achievements of women. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by inspiring addresses from distinguished speakers who highlighted key issues such as women’s empowerment, gender equality, and the importance of education and self-reliance. Motivational stories and lived experiences shared by the speakers added depth and inspiration to the occasion.

As part of its outreach and community empowerment initiatives, RNB Global University facilitated a Legal Rights Awareness Camp in Husangsar Village, marking a meaningful step toward fostering legal literacy and social justice at the grassroots level. The camp aimed to bridge the gap between legal frameworks and public understanding, particularly in rural areas where awareness of basic rights remains limited. Focused on practical and relevant themes such as Fundamental Rights, Property Rights, Digital Scam Awareness, and Land Law, the sessions were designed to educate villagers about their entitlements and the tools available to safeguard them. Special emphasis was placed on women’s property rights and protection against exploitation, aligning with the broader goals of gender justice and inclusion.

Speaker of the Event:: Mrs. Kanchan Gahlot- Assistant Prosecution Officer – I, Jodhpur
As part of university’s ongoing commitment to legal literacy and gender-sensitive advocacy, hosted an expert lecture on “Protection of Children under Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, lecture provided a comprehensive overview of the new legal provisions that address crimes such as abuse, trafficking, and exploitation—offenses that disproportionately affect girls and vulnerable children. Mrs. Gahlot elaborated on the gendered impact of such crimes, emphasizing how the updated Sanhita introduces more robust mechanisms for safeguarding children, particularly from marginalized communities. The session also highlighted the practical challenges in implementing these reforms and explored ways to foster collaboration among legal experts, social workers, and policymakers. By examining real-life case studies and emerging threats such as cybercrimes, the lecture not only deepened the participants’ legal understanding but also empowered them to advocate more effectively for children’s rights. Positioned within the broader framework of gender justice, this initiative reaffirmed the university’s dedication to promoting a just and inclusive society where the protection of every child, regardless of gender, is a legal and moral priority.

This initiative aimed to educate the local community—particularly women and girls—about the importance of personal hygiene, waste management, and disease prevention through proper sanitation practices. The event addressed not only public health concerns but also the gendered dimensions of sanitation, recognizing that women often bear the brunt of inadequate hygiene infrastructure. Practical demonstrations on handwashing, clean water use, and waste segregation empowered participants with the knowledge and confidence to maintain healthier living environments. Through interactive discussions and a Q&A session, the workshop created a space where villagers, especially women, could ask questions and share concerns often silenced by social taboos. By involving students in the delivery of awareness content, the university also fostered leadership and sensitivity among youth regarding gender-specific health challenges.

Speaker: Dr. Meghna Sharma – Assistant Professor, Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner; Renowned Academician and Gender Studies Expert
Dr. Sharma traced the evolution of gender roles in India from ancient times to the present day, highlighting how women were once celebrated as scholars and leaders in the Vedic era but later marginalized through patriarchal norms, especially during medieval and colonial periods. She discussed the reforms introduced in the post-independence era, such as the Hindu Code Bills, and the efforts of women leaders in advancing gender justice. Moving to contemporary challenges, Dr. Sharma addressed persistent issues such as gender-based violence, workplace discrimination, and the compounded struggles of marginalized women. She also reflected on the double-edged impact of digital platforms on gender empowerment.
