Curriculum Design and Policy

RNB Global University strives to create courses and programmes which reflect the university’s values, goals and mission.

This will provide an excellent experience for students to learn, discover and fulfil their academic potential. This methodology will provide the opportunities for students to be ‘co-creators’ in the learning experience, while also securing appropriate academic standards.

RNB Global University would like to set new standards in the field of education by adopting the most modern and innovative techniques of curriculum designing. The policy for curriculum designing follows the basic rule of overall development of the student by adopting latest learning techniques and methodology. The following are the highlights for Curriculum Designing of RNB Global University

Learning Centric Methodology

The syllabus is designed in a manner that the students would learn something new which will enhance their knowledge base. It will be designed in a manner which will not only give the theoretical knowledge but also give the practical and industry know-how to the students. The University mission is to promote ‘True Learning’ and discourage ‘Rot Learning’. Use of tutorials, assignments, debates, quizzes, presentations, case-studies, projects, practical test, viva-voice and many more modern tools will promote the learning quotient among the students.

Clear Statement of Learning Objectives

The learning objectives will be stated at the beginning of the class so that the students will be well aware of the learning goals. It is important that the students are aware of what they are going to learn during the course and what are the outcomes of this learning, what they will be able to do after completing the course and how it will help them in future. These questions will be targeted in the first class. The university will allow the students to attend a few classes of different subject and then decide which subject he/she wants to study. The first few classes will be orientation classes and the teachers will be explaining the utility of the course for the future and also explains the learning outcomes of the course.

Research Led Syllabus Designing

Research is the essence of learning. The University puts lot of stress on research and will promote research among the students and faculty members. The syllabus will also be designed based on the research. Every region and category of students has different learning challenges and needs. The University will conduct extensive research to identify these specific challenges and need of the students and then design the syllabus. It will develop curriculum based on recent research and professional practices of the industry.

Practical Approach

RNB Global University promotes ‘Learn by Doing’ methodology. The University will promote practical experience/exposure to the students. The University has created huge infrastructure to provide live experience to the students. The university has laboratories to give this experience to the students. The students will be taught the subject by giving practical illustrations of related topic.

Industry Integrated Syllabus

The syllabus will be designed with industry input and requirements. The aim of learning should be to enhance employability of the students using modern techniques like work-based learning, industry visits and internship. The students will be exposed to the working culture of the organisation and the same will be stimulated in the classrooms and laboratories. This exercise will prepare the students for the industry after they finish the course. Their employability will also be improved using industry integrated syllabus.

Career Building Syllabus

The University designed the courses keeping in mind the ‘Career’ of the student as prime consideration. The emphasis of syllabus design is to help the students to reach their career goal. For example, the students who are pursuing CA or CS will be offered subjects which would help them in their CA/CS examination. A common problem faced by B. Com. students who are also pursuing CA is difference in the syllabus they have to study in B. Com. and in CA. Income Tax in B. Com. is taught for previous year whereas for CA examination the students have to study for current year. Similarly, the University will help the students who are preparing for other competitive examinations by offering them the related subjects.

Teaching Industry Specific Software

RNB Global University is entering into tie-ups with different software developers, like, SAP, Oracle, IBM and many others, to open their learning centers in the University Campus. The software is extensively used in the industry and if the students know how to work on these software’s it will increase their employability.

Holistic Approach

The guiding principle giving shape to the syllabus designing is based on the premise of ‘Providing Holistic Development’ to the students. The students will not only be developed academically but the University will try to foster the social and spiritual development of the students. This will help the University to achieve the vision of its mentor Dr. Ram Bajaj. The vision of Dr. Ram Bajaj is stated in the following statement.

“By educating the mind you develop a personality, by educating the soul you develop a human being but a comprehensive development of mind and soul builds nation.”

Continuous Updation

The syllabus will be updated on continuous basis based on the feedback given by the industry experts and subject experts. This will facilitate up-to-date information dissemination. The need of the industry should be closely integrated into the syllabus designing. The syllabus once designed should be updated to avoid any redundant information and also to upgrade.
